Party Idea?! Win Free Tickets!

7 02 2008

Scott and I are only so smart. We come up with a few good ideas for theme parties, but we thought, why not solicit over 1000 people’s ideas?

If you have an idea for a theme party and would like to see us use it, post it here. If we use your idea (and somebody else did not already suggest it), you and your guest go for free.

We’re looking forward to some great new ideas!

A Shout-Out to Other Groups, Continued…

20 12 2007

Last week, I posted about a few other social-esque groups around Seattle. I now have a few more to add to the mix:

Seattle Barnight

“Where to go out on Thursday nights in the Seattle area for the young and hip.”

“With this rather straightforward e-mail message, one of the longest running Seattle “just for fun” social groups was started in Feb of 2000. Whether you are: new to the area and looking to meet friends while checking out some great local night clubs, a pacific northwest native looking to get a bit more involved in the social scene, already out and about on most thursdays but interested in meeting new peeps and joining in our reindeer games… Seattle Barnight is still going strong!”

Meetup.com

A convenient, non-threatening way to connect to other people who share similar interests and live nearby.” – Time

Meetup.com has tons of groups for everyone and every interest.

Noonhat.com

“This is an easy, safe way to meet new people over lunch. Give us
an email address, date and a location, and we’ll match you with others. “

You’re paired with a random person based on a date and location. They could be of any gender, any age, etc.

There are lots of ways to meet new people in Seattle. If you want to get beyond the stage of just politeness and actually become friends, make the first move – ask someone to coffee, dinner, a party, etc.

Indoor Soccer Team – Girls & Guys Needed

13 12 2007

Seattle Anti-Freeze already has one indoor soccer team settled, and we’re looking at forming two or three more.

Here are your choices:
1) Indoor co-rec soccer in Sodo (near Downtown) on Monday nights. We really need girls for this!
2) Indoor men’s soccer in Redmond on Wednesday nights.
3) Indoor men’s soccer in Sodo on Wednesday nights.

If you’re interested in either of these, send me an email ASAP. My contact info is on the left.

Seattle Anti-Freeze sports (running, skiing, soccer) are part athletic, and part social. We’ll be planning dinner / drinks after games.

UPDATE: If you use Google Calendar, click the button below to add the game schedule to your calendar.

A Shout-Out to Other Groups

12 12 2007

I moved to Seattle from Philadelphia two years ago, and I love it here. There are so many young, fun and educated people. Downtown is safe and clean. And, regardless of what you like to do, there’s something out there for you.

So, this is a quick shout-out to all the other groups, as well as a few of our “sub-groups”. There’s something for everyone!

BEAN:

“BEAN is a networking, volunteering and social group for Seattle young professionals with 4,222 members.”

The Seattle Rep Crew:

“The Crew is Seattle Rep’s dynamic social and subscriber group for under-40 professionals and is 200 members strong. Crew members subscribe to the theatre on specially designed Crew Nights and are invited to attend “Members Only” Crew-sponsored events. In addition to providing Crew subscribers with a chance to socialize with old and new friends, Crew events often include unique behind-the-scenes opportunities to hear from the cast, producers, playwrights, and staff at the Seattle Rep about how plays are produced. “

Space City Mixer:

“Seattle social and networking club that plans fun and engaging events for its members. Our main demographic is smart & savvy professionals in their 20’s, 30’s & 40’s.”

Seattle Anti-Freeze:

We hold events every month or so, and our members tend to be in their 20s or early 30s. Join either the Facebook group or our evite list (add yourself here). Our major monthly events get sent out to both lists, but only the facebook group gets the related events (soccer, running, skiing, nights at the theatre, etc).

Seattle Anti-Freeze Indoor Soccer Team:

“Who’s up for kicking it? A soccer ball, that is. We’re starting up a co-rec soccer team to play monday nights, and a men’s team in Redmond, and we’ll be organizing post-game dinners / drinks. Join our team!”

Seattle Anti-Freeze Runners:

“We typically train on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Some of our runners are fast, some are slow, but most are fun. We often break bread and enjoy some drinks after our runs.”

Seattle Anti-Freeze Ski & Snowboard Bums:

“How does one survive the long Seattle winter? On one’s skis and snowboard of course! We will be putting together some day trips and some over-nighters.”

If any of these sound like your kind of thing, join up!

Over 200 people showed up for the sold-out event X Marks the Spot! We took over Hula Hula with pens, and I saw some pretty impressive shirt artwork (even if marginally inappropriate). Here are some pics:

After the Halloween Party Costume Cruise

30 10 2007

The Seattle Anti-Freeze Halloween Costume Cruise was fantastic. The DJ was great, and the costume were awesome. In fact, the tickets sold out so fast I didn’t even get a chance to post it up here. Oh well… at least now I can post the pictures.

Here are some of my favorites:

Prisoner Leo gets searched by a cop

Dick in the Box Costumes (there were at least four that I saw):

Mario, Princess and Luigi (Trey, Tara and John):

Borat (Jonas) with two ladies. Naughty naughty!

And without further ado, here are the various photo albums that I’ve tracked down.
